Our Story
In the heart of Nigeria, a vision to uplift the underserved took root with the establishment of Thinkfinance Services Limited on December 6, 2012. This spark of ambition ignited a transformative journey, culminating in the birth of TF Microfinance Bank. By 2015, the Central Bank of Nigeria granted an approval in principle for a Unit Microfinance Bank, followed by formal incorporation with the Corporate Affairs Commission on March 14, 2016. On March 27, 2017, TF Microfinance Bank proudly received its final license, marking a new chapter in its mission to deliver innovative financial solutions to Nigeria’s unbanked and underbanked communities.
At the helm of this inspiring venture is Otaloghene Austine Efeurhobo, a visionary driven by a passion for change. A graduate of Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University and holder of a Master’s in Finance and Investment from the prestigious University of Edinburgh, Austine’s Journey began during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Benue State. There, he pioneered a groundbreaking model that united corps members to pool a portion of their monthly stipends into a fund for microloans, empowering local micro-scale business owners. This initiative not only flourished but evolved into a celebrated Community Development Service (CDS) group, earning Austine a Commendation Letter from the NYSC State Coordinator.
Fueled by a desire to tackle unemployment and champion financial inclusion, Austine pursued advanced studies abroad to sharpen his expertise in business, finance, and investment. This pursuit of knowledge laid the foundation for TF Microfinance Bank—a beacon of hope dedicated to empowering unemployed graduates and micro-entrepreneurs across Nigeria. With a commitment to bridging financial gaps and fostering opportunity, TF Microfinance Bank continues to inspire and transform lives, one dream at a time.
